"Mick" Hearthside's McDreamy Gorgeous stud from Thistlerock/Mioak/Top Brass lines out of Minnesota. Mick's OFA hip certification is "Fair, permissable to breed",
which means his chances of hip dysplasia are vastly
reduced. His elbows are grade 1 and grade 2. Since hips are the big thing with large breed dogs, we're continuing
to use Mick despite his elbow grades. Controversy
over elbow dysplasia is confusing to us as breeders
and to pet owners. In all honesty, if most of our parents had been screened few of us would exist. Since elbow dysplasia is a controversial cause and effect finding and Mick is a stellar dog with amazing agility and no problems, we've decided to continue
to breed him. Multi-generation
certification and American Field Champions, Canadian
Field Champions, Master Hunters and Senior Hunters.

Maddie is such a sweet, genteel mother and this is her only
2010 litter. We won't re-breed her until summer
of 2011. Maddie was by far our naughtiest puppy. Her antics kept us busy the first year, but what a beautiful dog she is. Sweet, smart, gentle, easy-going.
Her deep red tones make her a standout in a crowd
and her innate motherly nature makes her a great
breeding female. That gentleness comes through
in her pups, coupled with Mick's gentle eager-to-please nature. Great
combination.

Welcome to Hearthside... *
We're country folk, new to dog breeding but not to business. As our line of beautiful Goldens,
Danes and mixed breed designer dogs grows, the Blodgett family extends a warm welcome to dog lovers everywhere. We pledge
that our breed lines will come from varied pedigrees, and that we will only breed strong, healthy, gentle animals. * Our
dogs should not be mistaken for guard dogs. Raised with love, discipline, simple commands and lots of doggie treats, our crew
of willing hands brushes, pets, walks and cleans up after dogs in good-natured fashion. While protectivism is fine for some
breeds, we school the crew to accept direction, to play with gentility, to sit for 'pets', and that a gentleman
always offers a lady a paw... * Which is as it always should be, LOL! * Of course, we've had the odd shoe go missing now and again. And I LOVE my shoes. What girl doesn't? In those cases, we've agreed to disagree on the merits of shoe leather vs.
Bobos and chew toys.
* And yes, the
occasional disagreement has led to heightened tones of scolding and chagrin. But that's why they make shoe stores, right?
So dog owners can shop at will. * We're happy to report that Ruthy's writing career is off and running. * Harlequin
and Steeple Hill Books have just contracted a 4th book, a new series set in Allegany County, New York. Although she's very, very, very sorry she sorely neglected her dog website for
months (chagrined sigh here, but keeping delightful editors happy is a really important thing. You understand...) she's amazingly
happy that after years of work the elusive publishing contracts are now a reality! Her first book, "Winter's End" was
given a 4 1/2 Star review by Romantic Times magazine, the second book "Waiting Out the Storm" was also granted a
4 1/2 Star review. Ruthy is fairly sure she's related to the reviewer. "Waiting Out the Storm" is due on the shelves by July 1, 2010. Both books are available
at e-harlequin.com and amazon, Barnes & Noble, Parable Books, Christian Book Distributors, etc. And Waiting Out the Storm has a fine array of fun, farm animals including intriguing
dog breeds. Ruthy is delighted with the
response her writing has elicited. S-W-E-E-T!!!

quite the sensation.
