Puppy Updates
These are file photos of last year's pups.
We'll upload pics of Libby's babies
soon. Right now their eyes are closed
and they squeak a lot.
So cute!

Christmas, kids and puppies. What more could we ask for????

Our first litter of Golden Doodles taught us a great deal.

1. Chocolate brown Poodles and red Golden Retrievers can produce black puppies.

2. Baby Doodles look like labs for about three weeks.

3. Baby Doodles are gorgeous and precocious.

4. To see them is to love them. Smile

Maddie's litter at 8 days old. All pups are thriving. Gorgeous! And very kissable...

Not sure what a Doodle is? Think 'Cock-a-poo-on-steroids'...
Seriously, Doodles were invented as a retriever F-1 hybrid (both parents purebreds, try to remember those high school pea experiments, RR x rr gives Rr and Rr or some such thing... Anyway...I digress...) Because Poodles are less likely to stir allergic reactions, they've been crossed with other breeds to lessen or prevent allergies in sensitive people. The result when you cross a strong, beautiful chocolate brown Standard Poodle like Lady Liberty to an amazing Golden Retriever like Mick? A fine, good-sized dog with a great sense of humor and an easy-to-care-for coat. Doodles may be curly, wavy or poofy and come in a variety of colors depending on the parents.
Around here, that variety appears to be limited to black and gorgeous!
Wonderful, wonderful dogs.

We're hoping for a summer litter for Roxie...
But then we were hoping for a spring litter for Roxie...
Hmm.....
Obviously we're missing some vital component.
Sigh.....

All Hearthside pups come from strong, AKC registered parents.
Reserving a Hearthside puppy costs nothing. Once you've selected a specific pup (pup selection place is determined by date of reservation), we ask a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to hold the pup until pick-up time.
Pups will be dewormed and vet-checked with initial shots.
Inquiries about upcoming litters, puppy problems (we all have those, believe me!!!) and e-mails containing helpful advice are always welcome.

Mom and pups at one day old.

Maddie's first whelping was a wonderful experience. Lacey, Beth and I played midwife-in-attendance, but Maddie needed little help. Although a little wonderstruck at the first two arrivals, she quickly became old hat at successfully welcoming each new pup. We weighed the pups as they arrived, and kept the initial babies warm while Maddie was busy welcoming their siblings. The pups weighed in from 14 to 18 oz., strong and healthy. We've got five boys and five girls, a nice mix.
